The Three 3 Stooges

PSA Certified TYPE I Photo

One of the most exciting Three Stooges original Type I photos we’ve ever acquired.      It was the start of their career, from 1934 a personal photo of Moe and Larry celebrating  Curly’s  31st birthday.  It was 1934 that they began their historic run as the Three Stooges with their first Columbia Short, “Women Haters”.   (Note: We also acquired three Original Type I photos from this inaugural Stooges Columbia short.  See them below under “Other Rare Vintage Treasures You Might Like”).

PSA Certified TYPE I Photo

What makes this photo even more extraordinary?   Unlike 99% of their vintage photos that are studio releases, this is an actual Publicity Press Release photo  with the ACME stamps and dated snipe on the back.  Dated October 25, 1934.   Not Showing the Stooges in the typical Columbia scene but a personal event at the popular nightclub Vanities.  As a matter of fact,  its the first Original Stooges photo I've ever seen in 40 years collecting that was issued by a news agency like ACME and not Columbia studio.

A true museum grade piece of Three Stooges and Hollywood history and one of the only Personal photos we’ve ever seen of the three  that included Curly.

*ACME Newspictures sometimes credited as Acme News Photos was a United States-based news agency that operated from 1923 to 1952.

Curley's Birthday photo has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA. Photo measures 7" x 9", encapsulation measures 9.75" x 13.25". Case exhibits slight scuffing. Photo retains studio paper snipes and stamps on the verso and exhibit age and handling.  Photo has some minor scuffing to the left side, not affecting any of the critical images.   Note:  The image shows a white line on the left side of the photo that extrends from the cake upwards - This is NOT on the photo but is on the PSA plastic Holder.

A true museum-grade investment piece!
