Original Vintage LIVE Concert Poster, 1970

In 1970 after a few years of friction between Diana Ross and the other two members of “The Supremes”, Ross left the band and the remaining two, Mary Wilson, Cindy Birdsong and Ross replacement Jean Terrell continued without Ross and actually did quite well for the first couple years with two Top 10 Hits.  Ross’s romantic relationship with Motown Records president Berry Gordy  seemed to be the straw that broke the camel’s back as he apparently showed blatant favoritism for her and pushing for her solo career.  Here is a great article that goes into more detail. 

This stunning historic poster of the newly configured Supremes Three-some depicts a period when three young women didn’t give up and went on to continued success, at least for the next few years.   A particularly beautiful poster as Kleinhan's was well-known for producing outstanding-looking one-off concert posters for their shows only, and this is no exception.  Very good-Excellennt Condition.

The Supremes 1970 Buffalo, NY Concert Poster. An original cardboard window card advertising the 1970's version of The Supremes, minus Diana Ross, playing at Kleinhan's Music Hall in Buffalo, New York on Sunday evening, December 6, 1970. Kleinhan's was well-known for producing outstanding-looking one-off concert posters for their shows only, and this is no exception. Great full-length picture of Mary Wilson (center), Cindy Birdsong and Jean Terrell. The Supes did fine without Ross this year, producing two Top 10 pop hits, "Up the Ladder to the Roof" and "Stoned Love." Their first single in the new year (1971) would be the classic "Nathan Jones." Measures 14" x 22". In Very Good Plus condition with six pieces of tape along the left and right edges and small spots of creasing in various locations.
