Note:  These are some of the earliest surviving Buffalo Bill Wild West Show programs that we have ever acquired since we started collecting historical artifacts in 1980.   Most that appear on the market are from the early 20th century.

If you appreciate historical artifacts and in particular the Wild West of the mid and late 19th century, here is a most exciting piece  of history.  With spectacular color artwork on front and back cover.   Filled with 64 Pages of amazing historical illustrations and fascinating stories of the Wild West era

Buffalo Bill's Wild West and Congress of Rough Riders of the World / Historical Sketches & Programme. Chicago, IL: The Blakely Printing Company, 1893. 8vo, chromolithographed paper wraps featuring Cody and an attack on the Overland Stage on the front cover and on the back cover "Sioux on the War-Path; Stronghold in the Bad Lands of the Hostile Indians, Chiefs 'Short Bull' and 'Kicking Bear,'" 64 numbered pages (front cover has small separation near lower edge, else very good). This program is the second type used during the 1893 season in Chicago. Annie Oakley and Johnny Baker were featured sharpshooters. As never before, the program featured horseback riders in exciting races and exhibitions of daring and skill. Has most of the illustrations as Program A of the first half of the 1893 season.  Very Good condition, actually quite amazing condition for a 140 year old Program document.

64 numbered pages.. This program represents the second half of the first season the Wild West became the Wild West and Congress of Rough Riders. The show spent the entire year near the grounds of the Columbian Exhibition in Chicago, playing 302 performances.

Condition:   Front cover attached and overall amazing condition, some soiling, toning, contents good.     The cover, other than the separation is in quite remarkable condition considering it is 140 Years old!   Has small separation near lower edge, else very good.  Unlike most of these that appear on the market, the cover has No tape, no missing pieces, no tears or stains.  And the inside is even more impressive, with just the antique sepia patina you would expect from a 140 year old historical document.
