Original Vintage Movie Posters Godfather Marlon Brando Memorabilia Collectibles For Sale
"The Godfather", 1972
Original Vintage Book Promotional Poster (24x22")

Here's something you no doubt have Never seen before!

Introducing a staggering Rare piece of Hollywood Americana History!          And being a collector since 1980 if I have never seen this Rare poster before, most likely 99.9% of the population hasn’t either.  Even the largest memorabilia auction house has never seen one before this Jaw-Dropping Treasure appeared on the market.

Imagine the greatest movie of the last 50 years that was introduced to the masses with a rather dull disappointing B&W movie poster to promote it in 1972.   And then two years later in 1974 the Television Premier on NBC to the largest TV audience in history at the time.  When family and freinds would all gather together for such a major TV event.   The days long before the On Demand revolution.

This incredible find was used in November or December 1974 to promote Mario Puzo's iconic novel just weeks after the first TV showing in November 1974.

Note:  The poster highlights “The Biggest TV Audience Ever (Nov 16 & 18)”.  The omission of the year clearly indicates this poster was used just after the premier TV showing in the same year, 1974. .    Mario Puzo no doubt was capitalizing on the Epic TV Event to promote his book.   And he outdid the studio movie poster artists with an Iconic poster image of the films #1 asset, Marlon Brando

 * I could not find any other references to this poster and have never seen it appear on the market since I started collecting in 1980.
