Sorry, this is sold out , but contact us for similar alternative we may have.

Holiday Inn, 1942
Original Vintage Movie Poster Half Sheet (22x28")
Starring Bing Crosby & Fred Astaire

Professionally Paper Backed

Extremely rare original vintage half sheet for this 1942 WWII era Christmas classic.   Actually used to promote the film at an American movie theater for its original 1942 release, 73 years ago!..  This is the Style B version of the half sheet with spectacular artwork of Fred Astaire dancing around the outside of the poster with a large image of him jumping in the air, and to the right is a large close-up of Bing Crosby singing.  This poster is far superior to the Style A half sheet.  Also, according to our search of all movie poster auctions it is only the second time this half sheet has appeared on the market.  And the only other one had substantially faded colors that cannot be restored without dramatically altering the poster. .This half sheet we are offering has good colors and only required minor restoration along the fold lines  (all vintage half sheet movie posters were folded prior to sending to theaters). .

Note:  This half sheet is in very good condition but needed some minor restoration primarily to the fold lines.    It has been professionally paper-backed and now looks amazing!  * See enlargeable image above..

Holiday Inn (Paramount, 1942). Half Sheet (22" X 28") Style B. Musical.
Starring Bing Crosby, Fred Astaire, Marjorie Reynolds, Virginia Dale, Walter Abel, Louise Beavers, and Irving Bacon. Directed by Mark Sandrich.

Irving Berlin provides some of his best numbers for this beloved classic, including the debut of "White Christmas." Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire star as musical partners who part ways over the love of the fickle Virginia Dale. When Crosby makes a success of his rural nightclub that is only open on holidays, with the help of a new love (Marjorie Reynolds) it isn't long before Astaire shows up to spoil things once again. With Astaire dancing, Crosby singing, and Mark Sandrich directing, this picture was an instant box office hit and is as popular today as ever. This rarely seen beauty

One of the best musicals to come out of the early 1940s was this classic with Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire vying for the fickle Virginia Dale. Crosby makes a success out of his rural nightclub (only open on holidays!). The poster features great art of Fred in an athletic dance pose and Bing singing his heart out!
