Pacific pearl diver Duke Slade escapes angry natives by joining a whaler whose dying captain persuades him to marry his daughter who is already being wooed by the first mate.
John Wayne would make six films for Universal after taking a leave of absence from Republic, with bigger budgets, better supporting casts, and shown in better movie houses. This is the last of those, with Arthur Lubin, the budget conscious director of five of Wayne's six Universal pictures, recalling "we made this picture because there was an old boat on the Universal lot we could use."
Starring John Wayne, Diana Gibson, Montagu Love, Moroni Olsen, Maurice Black, Paul White, Cameron Hall, Patrick J. Kelly, George Cleveland, and Glenn Strange. Directed by Arthur Lubin. An unrestored lobby card with bright color and a clean overall appearance. It may have general signs of use, such as slight edge wear, minor surface scratches, pinholes, or light creases. There is a small piece of paper tape on the verso.
