Gorgeous vintage theatrical Movie Poster Lobby Card 

Before there was Sherlock Holmes, before James Bond there was Honolulu Detective Charlie Chan. Beginning in 1931 with the first Chan film, “Charlie Chan Carries On”. The first Charlie Chan was actor Warner Oland, who made 15 films before his untimely death in 1938. Oland was replaced with Sidney Toler who made 22 Chan films before his death in 1947. Roland Winters would take over for Toler and go on to make six more Chan films for Monogram Studios.

NOTE:  The artwork and graphics on this Lobby Card is extraordinary.   Excellent condition. 

Note:  We have the Beautiful Complete lobby card set of eight lobby cards for this Chan classic title, each one listed separately in our eBay store.  It can take several years to put together one of these 70-80 year old lobby card sets.  
We just acquired a Large Charlie Chan collection including about Eight complete sets.  Each card has on the back two pieces of paper (easily removed as it has very light adhesive) identifying the specific lobby card and the Owner’s name and city.  I have blocked out the names and city on the digital image only for privacy reasons.   It’s pretty nice that they catalogued and identified each card.

Condition:  Lobby Cards are overall in Very Good-Excellent with expected border wear.   Has two pieces of small paper tape on back for no reason.   Colors are bright and beautiful.

A gold mine in Arizona, that was formerly losing a lot of money, suddenly turns into a veritable money-making machine. However, the owner, instead of being happy about his now profitable business, insists to Charlie that something is fishy and that someone is out to murder him. Charlie and his "crew" travel to the mine, pretending to be tourists staying at a nearby dude ranch so as not to arouse suspicion, and discover that the owner may well be right--it looks like the mine is being used as a cover for criminal activities, and that someone is indeed out to murder him.
