Fun and Fancy Free (RKO, 1947). Very Fine- on Linen. French Grande (46.5" X 63").
The French Grande for Fun and Fancy Free represents a charming artifact from Disney's postwar transition period, when the studio relied on anthology features to navigate the economic challenges that followed World War II. Combining the segments "Bongo" and "Mickey and the Beanstalk," the film reunited audiences with Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy in one of their most celebrated feature-length appearances.  And these Disney animated icons are joined by those lovable bears Bongo and Lulubelle.
Of particular importance is Mickey and the Beanstalk, which marked the final theatrical performance of Walt Disney himself as the voice of Mickey Mouse. Starring Edgar Bergen & Charlie McCarthy, Luana Patten, and the voices of Dinah Shore, Clarence Nash, Walt Disney, Cliff Edwards, and Anita Gordon. Directed by Jack Kinney, Hamilton Luske, William Morgan, Bill Roberts.
