1953 John F. Kennedy, "The Courtship of Jackie" Early Photo by Hy Peskin (LIFE)
1953 Photograph of young senator John F. Kennedy as he chooses the woman he wants to marry and begins a courtship. Seen here with young Jackie aboard his small sailboat "Victura". Taken by LIFE Magazine photographer Hy Peskin as he took other images this day, one of which appeared on the cover of the magazine and several others on the interior pages! This was issued through the Associated Press and stamped on the back with part of a newspaper caption as well. The condition is pretty nice and it is the only example we have ever seen in the industry.
Size: 5.5 x 6.25"
In July 1953, Life magazine featured a cover story titled "Senator Kennedy Goes A-Courting," showcasing John F. Kennedy and his then-fiancée Jacqueline Bouvier. The couple married on September 12, 1953. The Life magazine cover, photographed by Hy Peskin, marked a significant moment in their public courtship and contributed to the Kennedy family's rise to national prominence.
