Some classic movies are but shadows now, yet their poster art remains a beacon of artistic genius

I’ve owned most all the style movie posters for this cool 1944 Lugosi horror classic piece of art.  But this half sheet beats them all. With a creepy John Carradine looking like he’s about to jump out of the poster, a menacing Bela Lugosi lurking down at his female victims and a beautiful color combination design this is a “have to have” classic horror treasure.   It is also extremely rare as this is only the 2nd one that has ever been offred for sale based on auction records.

Bela Lugosi portrays Dr. Richard Marlowe, a scientist who kidnaps hapless young women and imprisons them in his dungeon. He, along with his evil assistant (John Carradine) attempt to resurrect Dr. Marlowe's wife by draining the life essence from the victims and injecting the precious substance into his long-dead spouse. 

Mad scientist Dr. Marlowe, played by the mesmerizing Bela Lugosi, kidnaps naive young women with the aid of his evil assistants George Zucco and John Carradine, in order to resurrect his deceased wife. He drains the life from his hapless victims, but makes a mistake when he sets his sights on Wanda McKay. A terrific vehicle for Lugosi, posters from this classic are hard to come by.

Condition:  An original 100% unrestored poster with good color and an overall very presentable appearance. There is wear along the horizontal fold, a small separation at the crossfold with a pinpoint hole in the center, minute separation at the bottom fold edge and right fold edge and some small stains and toning on the verso.
