As a collector of vintage Three Stooges memorabilia for over 35 years I never knew Curly Howard did a solo film until about a week ago.  Just to have acquired what is most likely the only known original Type 1 photo to exist from this film is exciting to say the least.

The 1934 Columbia short Roast-Beef and Movies holds a unique place in film history as the only solo appearance of Jerry "Curly" Howard, the beloved comedic genius of the Three Stooges. In this early short, Curly plays a bumbling waiter who dreams of Hollywood stardom, showcasing his singular comedic timing, physical humor, and whimsical personality long before he became synonymous with the Stooges’ brand of slapstick. 
While the short predates his iconic tenure with Moe and Larry, it offers a rare glimpse of Curly’s comedic prowess in a standalone context.   As a standalone work, it provides a fascinating glimpse into Curly's comedic talent in its raw form, making it a treasured piece for Stooge enthusiasts and film historians alike.
