Vintage Coca-Cola "Things Go Better With Coke" Tin Litho Sign

Mid-20th Century; Original, 23.5” height, 23.5” width, single-sided tin litho sign titled “things go better with Coke” with artwork of bottle. Overall condition is excellent with minor paint loss. Please view photos.

The "Things Go Better With Coke" tin litho signs were produced during a legendary Coca-Cola marketing campaign launched in 1963 and used until 1969. The slogan successfully modernized the brand's image, leaning into pop art, music, and celebrity endorsements before being replaced by "It's the Real Thing" in 1969.

Beyond its historical significance and collector appeal, this remarkable Coca-Cola sign stands on its own as a stunning piece of vintage American decorative art. The bold graphics, beautifully balanced typography, iconic bottle imagery, and vibrant mid-century color palette make it an exceptional statement piece, equally at home in a sophisticated contemporary interior as in a serious collection of vintage advertising.

Vintage Coca-Cola “Things Go Better With Coke” Tin Advertising Sign – 1960s

Bring home an unmistakable piece of 1960s American advertising history with this original vintage Coca-Cola tin sign featuring the legendary “Things Go Better With Coke” slogan and classic Coca-Cola contour bottle.

Introduced in 1963, “Things Go Better With Coke” became one of Coca-Cola’s defining advertising campaigns of the decade. This colorful store-display sign perfectly captures the era’s bold mid-century design, with oversized typography, a striking illustrated Coke bottle, cream background, and distinctive turquoise border.

Originally created as point-of-sale advertising, signs like this were displayed in grocery stores, restaurants, soda fountains, drugstores, and other retailers—and surviving originals have become increasingly desirable among collectors of Coca-Cola memorabilia, vintage advertising, Americana, and mid-century décor.

This example retains wonderful vintage character, including original mounting holes, strong color, surface wear, edge wear, and age-related patina consistent with decades of actual commercial display. Rather than diminishing its appeal, these honest signs of age give the piece the unmistakable character collectors appreciate in authentic vintage advertising.

With its impressive size, instantly recognizable Coca-Cola imagery, and wonderfully nostalgic appearance, this sign makes a spectacular statement piece for a home bar, restaurant, game room, office, vintage kitchen, or advertising collection.

Authentic Double-Layer Metal Construction

An especially noteworthy feature of this vintage Coca-Cola sign is its substantial double-layer metal construction. Rather than being a simple flat sheet of tin, the advertising face is mounted within a second formed metal backing/frame, creating a heavier, more dimensional sign with a reinforced outer edge.

The turquoise outer section wraps around and supports the advertising panel, giving the sign its distinctive raised, framed appearance. This type of period commercial construction was designed to provide greater rigidity and durability for long-term display in stores, restaurants, service stations, and other retail locations.

The two-piece construction is clearly visible around the perimeter, where the inner advertising panel and heavier outer metal backing/frame meet. Combined with the original mounting points, naturally aged surfaces, and decades of wear, the construction contributes significantly to the sign's authentic vintage character.

Unlike lightweight modern reproduction signs, this substantial double-layer construction gives the piece the weight, depth, and industrial quality associated with genuine period Coca-Cola advertising.

More than vintage advertising, this is an authentic survivor from the golden age of Coca-Cola marketing—a colorful piece of American pop culture ready to become the centerpiece of your collection.

An authentic piece of Coca-Cola advertising history—and an increasingly difficult original sign to find with this much visual presence.
