1958 Linemar Japan-SPACEMAN PORTHOLE ROBOT ASTRONAUT-Great Condition w/Repro Box.   In the astronaut series, this robot is probably one of the hardest to find. Made in the late fifties by Linemar Toys.  The robots official name is Spaceman but its better known as “Porthole” Robot.

In fact it’s not even a robot, its a human in an astronaut suit.  Made in beautiful red lithographed tin and remote controlled.  I have no idea to be honest why this robot is so hard to find.  Fact remains that porthole robots are almost never seen in the open market.

He is 7.5 inches tall and all tin litho. Wonderful original robot/spaceman with remote control replaced, in a great looking repro box. Everything is original on the spaceman except the remote (wires were exposed in back so toy didn't need to be opened).

Apart from some very light storage wear, he is in REALLY nice condition. You will be pleased with this fabulous Japanese Spaceman....

He is called the port hole spaceman because of the weird little face opening on the helmet ! He is quite clean C-9 and works perfectly...head lamp light up bright red and he walks along smoothly with moving both arms.  The remote takes 2 D-cell batteries and he works like he did 61 years ago when some 10-year-old boy pulled him off the shelf!
